Introduction
I am Iván Nitsovits, the founder and manager of Oskola Antikvárium. I was born in Szeged in 1975. My wife, Gabriella, is a special education teacher, and my greatest pride is my three daughters: Natasa, Mileva and Dusana.
Where did I start from?
My father was an avid book collector, and I “inherited” my love of books from him. For me, the antiquarian profession is not only a job, but also a profession and a passion. I started working in an antiquarian during my university years (JATE-BTK, history major), initially only part-time, and then as a full-time antiquarian from 2002 (Unicus Antiquarian, Körút Antiquarian, antikvarium.hu, Németvölgyi Antiquarian). Since 2010, I have been an independent bookseller and art appraiser (BÁV Appraisal Academy). My business has been operating under the name Oskola Antiquarian since 2010.
Origin of the name Oskola
My paternal grandfather was a haberdashery merchant in Szeged from the 1920s until the nationalization, and one of his shops on Oskola Street was called Harisnyaház. I would like to pay tribute to his memory by choosing this name.
